External Transfers

Our External Transfer service enables you to conveniently move money between accounts with Ulster Savings and other financial institutions. There is no charge for this convenience when you are a customer with Ulster Savings Bank. 

It’s simple to get started:

Step 1: Log in to Online Banking.
Step 2: Go to the ‘Move Money’ tab.
Step 3: Click on ‘External Transfers’ > ‘Transfer Between My Accounts’

To protect your accounts, we have set limits on the amount of money that can be transferred online.

  • Limits can vary based on From and To account selection. 
  • Maximum transfer amount is $2,000 per transfer. 
  • Total daily transfer limit cannot exceed $2,000 in total. 
  • Total Monthly Transfer Limit cannot exceed $5,000. This is based on a rolling 30 days from the initial transfer transaction.

Mobile Banking

CardValet® - Protect and Control Your Debit Card

CardValet is a mobile app that helps reduce fraud by enabling Ulster Savings debit cardholders to monitor their debit card usage, with real time alerts, on their smartphone. Cardholders can also set controls on how, when, and where their debit/credit card can be used

  • Cardholders have the ability to ‘turn off’ their card when not in use, establish transaction spending limits, and decline a transaction when the amount exceeds a predefined threshold.
  • Real-time smartphone alerts can be customized based on the types of information each cardholder would like to receive.
  • Link additional accounts to better monitor their spending. Restrictions can be set using geographic, merchant type, and spending limit parameters.
  • Small Businesses can monitor and control employee transactions for specific merchant categories, such as travel, restaurants, or entertainment. Transactions can be denied or reported for types of merchants deemed not business related.

Mobile Remote Deposit Capture

Remote Deposit Capture is a convenient service that enables customers to present checks for deposit into their Ulster Savings Bank account directly from their phone. Deposit checks almost anywhere. It’s as easy as tap, snap, deposit.

You can easily move recurring payments and direct deposits to your Ulster Savings Bank account, all with the click of a mouse. No complicated switch kits or wasting time contacting payees, just an easy process that does the work for you. 

Simply follow these steps to start the secure process: 

  1. Call 866-440-0391 or come by an Ulster Savings Bank branch to receive your SwitchTRACK code.
  2. Access Ulster Savings Bank’s ClickSWITCH portal
  3. Enter the SwitchTRACK code provided. 
  4. Create your personal password. 
  5. When prompted, enter your new password, and log in. 
  6. Read and accept the terms of use, and you are ready to begin your switches. 
  7. Click on your desired tab and follow the instructions to create and submit your switches. 

Automated Payments 

An automated payment (or ACH) is a regular, ongoing payment that is initiated from your bank account, such as a monthly insurance bill, utility payment, or automobile loan payment. Use the list below as a reference for transferring your automatic payments to your new account. Take into consideration any annual payments that you may have set up as a deduction.

What is a Direct Deposit?

A direct deposit is any payment that you receive from a person or organization directly into your account. These include payroll direct deposits, government direct deposits (Social Security, Disability, etc.) and dividend direct deposits from investment accounts.

Use for login, tracking switch activity and completing switch process.
Account data will be automatically populated into the ClickSWITCH portal. Just click on which billers you'd like to switch and ClickSWITCH takes care of the rest, sending completed account switch forms and a copy of a voided check directly to billers.
Enables you to easily track payments you want to transition to a new account. 
The ClickSWITCH portal allows you to view a listing of all switches currently in progress and details regarding each switch. The Switch Summary will also let you know if additional action is needed from you and confirm when a switch has been successful.
Advises you on the approximate amount to leave in your existing account in the event that automated payments are processed prior to the account switch.
Easily initiate closure for previous external accounts once the switch process is complete.
